Ryleys pupils are world class

World Class Pupils 1

Eleven children from across Years 4 to 8 recently participated in a series of Mathematics and Problem Solving tests, competing against children of the same age in countries around the world.  The World Class Tests form part of the World Class Arena, which provides resources and support materials for talented and gifted students.

The tests aim to match the achievements of the best 10% of 8-11 year-olds and 12-14 year-old students in the best performing, English-speaking countries worldwide. We are delighted to announce that the results have now been confirmed and that our pupils have not only passed, but some have achieved Merits and Distinctions.

All our pupils achieved a minimum of a Bronze certificate, but special mention must be made of Takao Ito, who achieved a double Distinction, William Lugo who achieved a Distinction, Pol Roman who achieved a Merit and Harrison Kaye, who despite his young age, achieved a Merit.

Well done to James Bathurst, Oliver Buckwell, Tim Cook, Sophia Lugo, Toby Orr, Sebastian Stanga and Hector Tomlinson for achieving a Bronze certificate. Headmaster Pat Barrett said “The children have done extremely well to have achieved such a high standard on a worldwide stage. We are incredibly proud of them.”
