Alderley Edge Golf Club's thriving junior section meets each Monday throughout the summer for a golf competition and it is common to have in excess of 30 juniors playing, ranging in age from 7 to 17.

Stableford points scored each week count towards the Junior Order of Merit and this year's winner was Logan Stanyer, who beat Tommy Troup by a single point. In third place was Zak Penney.

Alderley's junior section continues to produce some excellent players. Harry Sexton, now playing off 1 handicap, won the 2009 Cheshire Boys Championship, and Tom Lawton has reduced his handicap to 2 this year, in addition to making his Cheshire debut. Several others are hot on their heels !
