Huntsmere wins property of the year award

Alderley Edge based property development company Huntsmere has picked up the prestigious Property of the Year award, which is voted for by the public, at the 2010 Northern Design Awards. The winning property was Oakmere in Prestbury, a 7,200 square foot mansion on Castle Hill which recently sold to an unnamed buyer.

Oakmere was one of two properties Huntsmere was shortlisted for. Alderdale in Alderley Edge was shortlisted in the Best Luxury New Build category and Oakmere for Innovative Design. But it was Oakmere which beat off all other entries to win Property of the Year.

Huntsmere is delighted to add this award to their trophy cabinet. Last year the company won an award in the Best Luxury Home category at the national What House? Awards for their Ravenswood property in Prestbury and in 2008 they were winners for Westfield in Alderley Edge.

Commenting on this most recent award, Chris said: "Oakmere is a stunning property packed with original and stylish features. I am sure that the spa-style leisure suite with its beautiful pool area complete with stretched rubber ceiling, sauna, pool bar and lounging area will have generated plenty of votes. Other vote winners will have been the mirrored gymnasium area, media/games room with its fully operational cinema system and the glazed wine cellar.

"To be recognised at an event which celebrates the very best in design in the North is a real accolade and bears testament to the design flair and innovation we apply to all projects."
