Police attended an address on Congleton Road in Alderley Edge last week where they discovered a cannabis factory.

Sergeant Simon Mills, from Wilmslow Neighbourhood Police Area, said "Having received information we conducted a search and identified the house where cannabis could be smelt from outside. We obtained a warrant and smashed our way in to the property where we found a total of 501 cannabis plants growing."

The cannabis seized is believed to have a total street value of £80,000.

An ongoing investigation is being carried out by Knutsford Neighbourhood Police Area. They are appealing for anyone who may have knowledge of any suspicious activity which could be linked to this investigation to get in touch with them on 0845 458 6380, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Maybe 501 plants is a drug growers/dealers equivalant of a bakers dozen.
