Alderley Edge Hockey Club has been awarded ClubsFirst accreditation by the England Hockey Board, one of only 8 hockey clubs in Cheshire to have received this prestigious award. Clubs achieving the accreditation are recognised nationally as demonstrating they are fit for purpose and adhere to minimum operating standards.

The accreditation scheme focuses on four areas; developing young people in sport, safeguarding and protecting young people in hockey, sports equity and ethics and club management. To achieve the accreditation, the club were required to complete a development file, satisfying all of the criteria, and hosts an assessment visit during a junior coaching session. Once awarded the accreditation lasts for a three years.

On receiving the award, Club President Nick Rudgard said "Gaining ClubsFirst demonstrates we provide a safe, effective and child friendly club environment for young people to learn to play hockey. It's great to be recognised as a club for all the family delivering a quality and fun hockey experience for children and adults alike."

Alderley Edge Hockey Club, which has 4 men's team, 6 ladies teams and various junior sides, welcomes beginners of all ages and players who have taken a break from the game. For more details, please email Hockey club Honorary Secretary, Kelvin Briggs or contact him on 07825 213205.
