A sixty-two year old local woman has sadly died after falling from a bridge on the A34 Wilmslow bypass today (Saturday, 6th April).
A police spokesperson said "Shortly before 1.30pm on Saturday 6 April, police were called to reports of a woman having fallen from a bridge on the A34 in Wilmslow.
"Officers attended the scene along with paramedics, including air ambulance.
"Sadly, despite the best efforts of all those involved, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The A34 remains closed at this time in both directions.
"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances."
Update 8th April 2024 - A policespokesperson said "There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances."
