Double celebrations for Chelsea Flowers

Promotional Feature

Chelsea Flowers of Wilmslow have two extra special reasons to be celebrating this month – the first is that they have once again had their membership of the exclusive Good Florist Guide renewed and can now proudly display the 2023/2024 roundel.

The only truly merit-based guide to the finest florists in the world, Good Florist Guide is considered the gold standard of floristry and acknowledged as the "little black book" of the very best British and Irish florists.

Commenting on their re-accreditation and receiving the prestigious accolade for the third year running, owner Kerry Wood described themselves as over the moon to have the renewal confirmed, and very pleased to share the news with customers.

You see, unlike any other directory of florists, no-one can just buy their way in to the Guide. Being a member means not only did Chelsea Flowers have to undergo a rigorous evaluation process before being approved in the first place but were reassessed again before being invited to re-join; a bit like an MOT to ensure standards are being maintained.

The second reason for celebration is the very exciting news that the Chapel Lane-based shop has been selected as one of 26 UK Florists shortlisted by the British Florist Association for their 2023 award of "British Retail Florist of the Year".

The BFA Awards were created to highlight and celebrate all the dedicated and hard-working people that make up the floral industry. Each category has its own set of criteria for entry and the winners' marks are made up of a panel of industry experts as well as public vote. The category in which Chelsea Flowers is shortlisted is for Retail florists that offer exceptional customer service, use the highest quality flowers and are exceptional skilled florists.

Kerry commented "The whole team is naturally thrilled, and it is testament to the hard work everyone puts into the business, to make it a continued success.

"To be shortlisted in this national competition is exciting enough, but as the only representative for Cheshire, we really want to see how far we can go, and we'd love to bring this award back home to Wilmslow."

Part of the scoring is linked to a public vote - so they are aiming for as many votes as they can, (they are up against fierce competition!) If you are familiar with Chelsea Flowers and would like to vote to lend your support, then click here.

Voting closes on September 21 with finalists revealed on September 26 and winners announced on October 14.

Chelsea Flowers is based on Chapel Lane in Wilmslow and is open (and delivers) 6 days a week.
