First look inside San Carlo Alderley Edge

The first pictures have been published ahead of the opening of San Carlo Alderley Edge tomorrow (Thursday 17th August), following a £3 million renovation of the site.

The transformation is described as a contemporary take on traditional Italian dining with interiors inspired by Grand Milanese villas and gardens.

The images show the garden terrace dining room with a fully retractable roof, where the windows all along the front are now glass, rather than plastic. The marble bar is at one end of the terrace and can seat around 30, whilst the other end of the terrace features a working fireplace.

The 164 cover restaurant includes a more spacious and open dining space, thanks to the relocation of the former kitchen, and a Venetian inspired patterned terrazzo floor throughout along bespoke artworks adorning all walls.

With phase one now complete, phase two is underway upstairs to create a private dining and event space which will follow in a few months' time.

Bit harsh methinks David Smith.
We dined there last week and the quality of the food, the service and the ambiance was superb ... in fact, the whole experience was excellent.
Guess that's why the San Carlo Group have achieved their enviable reputation
and high standards in the restaurant world.

Oh, what exactly did I say that was a 'bit harsh'?
