The countdown is on to the Alderley Edge May Fair, and this year the fun will begin in the park on Friday 19th.

At 5pm the funfair will swing into action, and the party will include live music from four bands on the main stage with Red Sky Dawn as the headline act, along with street food and a licensed bar throughout the evening.

On Saturday morning the London Road Parade will pass through the village centre at 11am, before the fair is officially opened by this year's May Queens - Molly Lamb and Allana Khan. The two girls, aged 10, first met each other at the pre-school of Alderley Primary School and they have been firm friends ever since.

Molly is a keen hockey and Padel tennis player whilst Allana is a keen netball player, currently playing for Wilmslow lightening.

Entertainment on the park will feature more live music, artisan market stalls, donkey rides, the village dog show, clowns, children's rides and vintage DJ sets. Ed Sheeran Tribute UK will be headlining the main stage whilst street food and the licensed bar will be open throughout the day.

Chair of the volunteer organising committee, Paul Marshall said "We have fifteen local performance groups on our two stages this year, and we are pleased to offer the platform for their talent. Community groups from our village will be sharing their achievements in our market coterie and I hope that the Alderley Edge May Fair is a chance for the village to gather and share each others' company.

"As always, the fair is free to enter, so I hope everyone comes down to the park for the weekend."
