Police say traffic arrangements for the St. George’s Parade in Alderley Edge are geared around the safety of people in the parade and other road users.

“There will be some road closures during the parade. We will remove them as soon as it is safe to do so,” said the Cheshire Police Area Events Planning Officer, Derek Griffiths. “Drivers should bear this in mind when they are planning their routes and follow any instructions from Police Officers on the day. A little consideration for other people will help things run smoothly”

The parade takes place on Sunday April 25th, the first Sunday after St. George’s Day. It starts at 2pm when the Alderley District Scout Band will march from the Scout HQ on Talbot Road to the Playing Fields on Chorley Hall Lane, where it will link up with other members of the local Scout Movement.

The full parade will then march from the Playing Fields down London Road for the service at St. Philip and St. James Church, which begins at 3.15pm. At approximately 4.15pm the parade will re-form and march into Alderley Park, to be dismissed.
