Soap star supports Will Week

East Cheshire Hospice’s Will Week which is running from 19th-23rd April has the backing of Corrie star and Alderley Edge resident, Samia Smith, who plays Maria in the ever popular soap. She is urging everyone not to put off what so many of us delay again and again – getting a will written.

Local solicitors will not charge their fee for writing standard wills, during this special week but hope that anyone having their will written will make a donation, at their discretion to this wonderful local charity. Standard single Wills cost from around £75.

As a key supporter of East Cheshire Hospice, an organisation very close to her heart following the care given there to her father, Samia is promoting what a great idea their Will Week is.

“Having just has my first child, I realize how important it is to ensure that things are in place. It’s just something that everyone should do. This special week makes it even better as it means that one of my favourite charities will benefit,” said Samia.

“Everyone knows that having a Will makes what can be a very difficult time a little easier,” confirmed Major Relationships Manager at the hospice, Fiona Reed, “but so many people put it off again and again. With the help of all these solicitors giving their time free and a little encouragement from Samia we hope everyone who doesn’t have a Will takes this opportunity to get their affairs in order.”

East Cheshire Hospice is a registered charity which cares for adults suffering from life-limiting illnesses from which there is no cure. The Hospice receives less than 23% of its costs from government and so has to fundraise nearly £6,000 every single day of the year simply to maintain the current provision.

Lindsey Howland at Knights Solicitors in Alderley Edge will be participating in Wills Week and for a list of other participating solicitors, or more information, visit the East Cheshire Hospice website or call the hospice fundraising office on 01625 433477.
