Award winning cake maker Katja Seaton is offering the young cake makers of the future the chance to enter a competition to learn from a master in her own studio at Horseshoe Farm.

Having received the Gold Star at the Great Taste Awards in London, and winning Stockport Art Galleries 'Eat your Art Out' competition for a 3rd time, Katja was inspired to offer her talents as she wants to encourage more young people to bake and draw.

Katja who also teaches Art at Stockport College said: “It makes perfect sense to me to combine art with cake decoration, it would be wonderful to give someone the opportunity to have a go for themselves.”

All you entrants need to do is to post or e-mail their design in colour to Katja by Monday 3rd May when Katja and Chef Duncan Poyser will judge the winner.

The competition is open for children aged up to 16 and the winner will spend the afternoon at her studio baking and decorating the cake with Katja.

Katja studied Visual Arts at Camberwell School of Art and then went on to learn cake decoration with Anne Warren of the Cupcake Café in Manhattan. Katja now works in association with award winning Chef Duncan Poyser and is based at Horseshoe Farm.

Katja can be contacted via her website.
