In the heart of Wilmslow town centre in Bollin House lives leading experience and brand communications company, Make Events. Established 8 years ago by Founder and CEO Holly Moore this Wilmslow based business has been growing to become one of the Top 50 agencies in the UK.

Since its launch in 2012, Make Events has grown from Holly's dining table into one of the UK's most recognised agencies, working alongside nationally and internally recognised clients such as Puma, Vimto, Kellogg's, Twitter and Booking.com to name a few.

Set to turn over 4 million this year the business has been hit by the global pandemic with 95% of their revenue dropping out of the business at the start of lockdown.

Moore, also a Wilmslow resident and former Alderley Edge School for Girls pupil was set to see the dream she had built for 8 years crumble around her.

"I spent the first 4 weeks of lockdown I was solo isolating and I found it not only tough to make people decisions but also didn't know how to move us forward."

"I needed inspiration as we were in one of the worst hit. We didn't get a grant or any other support."

"I clung to our brand value of Anything is Possible and decided if we could make it through with no borrowing and no revenue for 12 months then that would be the ultimate story of Anything is Possible."

Once CEO Holly Moore found the inspiration she launched their Pivot Strategy, she said: "It is with passion, expertise and as always practising what we preach that we will continue our mission but in a slightly different way. This is not a temporary pivot, it's a change in strategy without a change of vision."

With the uncertain future of live events hanging in the balance, there has been a dramatic shift and increase in companies choosing to host their events on a virtual platform. Moore believes this way of communicating is here to stay.

Moore said: "In a world that is "zoomed out" and suffering with digital fatigue; we wanted to make sure we can create an energetic, content driven, fast paced, visually exciting virtual experience."

Pre lockdown our main offering was Live Events and Experiences as well as global venue finding.

After witnessing the impact of Covid-19 on a national scale on the event industry and having to manoeuvre the uncertain path ahead themselves, Make Events has rallied together behind their strategy PIVOT.

Holly Moore, Founder and CEO at Make Events said "We spent the first 3 months of lockdown really honing what would be a strategy for the long haul. I feel that now was exactly the right time to launch it and it feels completely authentic to Make Events brand and story. This is Make Events Version 2. We also have more exciting things planned!"
