The Oakwood in Alderley Edge has announced that they will not be reopening following the Covid-19 lockdown.

The pub opened on Brook Lane in June 2016, making it the 11th pub for the growing White Brasserie Pub Company, a sister company of Raymond Blanc's Brasserie Blanc.

A spokesperson for The White Brasserie Company said "The decision has not been taken lightly and we will endeavour to find roles for as many of the Oakwood staff as possible at other White Brasserie pub sites or within our Brasserie Blanc estate.

"We are working hard to support the team who have worked so hard and with such professionalism over the years.

"We would like to thank you, our loyal guests, very much for your custom and support during our time here. We know how disappointed you will be to hear this news."

Very sorry to hear this. We always enjoyed our meals there, with its friendly and professional staff. I hope they all get settled elsewhere, but the Oakwood will be sorely missed.

Sad. Hopefully someone can take it over and keep it going.

Another one bites the dust. I hope it gets taken over quickly as a pub eatery . Good luck to all the former staff.
