In partnership with bluedot Festival, Alderley Park unveils day of family focused fun

As part of the eagerly anticipated launch of Glasshouse at Alderley Park, Bruntwood SciTech has today announced microdot at Alderley Park – a day of family friendly activities co-curated by the team behind the award-winning bluedot Festival – specially designed for budding scientists and tech buffs alike.

GAIA - the huge Earth installation by artist Luke Jerram - will be the centrepiece of the day and will make an impressive statement against the backdrop of Alderley Park's beautiful surroundings. Measuring seven metres in diameter, Gaia features highly detailed NASA imagery of the Earth's surface and will provide a unique opportunity to see our amazing planet on this scale, floating in three dimensions.

For those wanting to unwind and de-stress, early morning YOGA classes will be available, courtesy of Everybody Sport & Recreation, and will take place directly underneath the award-winning installation. Make sure you book on early to avoid missing out!

Families are invited to help bring tech to life with fun interactive shows such as Who wants to be a Superhero – linking superhero powers to scientists and engineers, and Music to Your Ears – exploring the basics of sound to more complex aspects of music, hosted by award-winning science communication company Science Made Simple.

Ever fancied your hand at Drone Racing? Cheshire based Skills Supply will be on hand for some fast-paced action, teaching families to fly ultra-stable drones and pit their skills against other racers around custom-made courses.

Adventurous kids are invited to explore the vast woodlands and nature at Alderley Park by joining Sharky and George in a treasure hunt, completing various scientific themed challenges along the way.

With a whole host of activity to occupy young minds, more than 400 acres of green space and woodland to explore and locally sourced food and drink available, microdot promises to be a showcase of creativity and enjoyment for all the family.

Alderley Park – is home to a world class science campus dedicated to discovery and new ideas. It's a base for progressive businesses, rich in new thinking. A place for dynamic modern living, with new homes, new gym and sports facilities, plus, a new pub and restaurant set to open in Spring 2020. The 150,000 sq ft Glasshouse is the Park's latest opening offering a range of commercial workspace for forward thinking, innovative businesses and entrepreneurs.

The event takes place on Saturday 15th February from 9am to 4pm.
