62-year-old Wilmslow man dies following motorbike crash on A34 bypass

Police were notified of a collision on the Pendleton Way section of the A34 in Wilmslow Shortly before 7.30pm on Friday, 23rd August.

Officers attended the scene and discovered that a man had come off his motorbike having collided with the central reservation whilst travelling in the direction of Manchester.

The road was closed in both directions as emergency services dealt with the incident.

The casualty, a 62-year-old from Wilmslow, was airlifted to the Manchester Royal Infirmary after being assessed by paramedics.

Sadly, despite the best efforts of everyone involved, the man has since died at the hospital.

Formal identification has taken place and his next-of-kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
