With the sun set to shine, Alderley Edge Cricket Club is looking forward to hosting the annual Village Fete at the weekend.

The fun family day starts at 12 noon on Sunday, 30th June, with those visiting encouraged to bring along their pooch to enter the ever popular Dog Show.

The fete will also include a small Artisan Market with a variety of stalls from independent and local producers in the marquee.

For the children there will be a funfair with rides and side stalls whilst the adults can relax and enjoy a drink from the outdoor Pimms, Prosecco and Gin Bar. Additionally ladies from the tennis club will be providing homemade afternoon teas and a selection of tempting cakes.

John Berry, General Manager, Alderley Edge Cricket Club, said "The idea of holding an annual village fete was conceived by Emma Bolton of the Lavender Tree and myself as we felt that a village such as Alderley was lacking in traditional village community events. The end result was a very family orientated afternoon with something for the whole family to enjoy and the village cricket club provided the ideal location for such an event.

"Since the fete was introduced into the calendar the local residents now have the extremely popular May Fair, annual fireworks display and the Christmas lights switch-on, all organised by locals for locals.

"We look forward to welcoming residents of Alderley Edge and visitors to our wonderful village on Sunday 30th June from 12 noon."
