Rainbow leader required to save unit

Girlguiding is celebrating its Centenary this year, and in Alderley Edge we are very lucky to be so well represented from the age of 5 through to 80 something!

Since 1987, Alderley Edge has run a successful Rainbow Unit, meeting every week during term time for an hour in the Methodist Church . The Rainbows section is the first step on the Guiding ladder and is for girls between the ages of 5 and 7.

Rainbows follow a programme which encompasses the Guiding ethos and has the themes “Look, Learn, Laugh and Love” which are linked in to the many activities they are able to enjoy. They even have their own mascot – a doll named Olivia - who shares in the Rainbow Adventure.

Our leader will be leaving us at Easter, and we don’t have anyone to take over the reins. This means that unless we can find a replacement, the unit will have to close. We need an enthusiastic person, aged between 18 and 65 to help us out and provide our “littlies” with their weekly experience of Guiding.

You too, could share in all the wonderful opportunities that Guiding has to give – we would really welcome you into our family and let you see just how rich the rewards can be!

Please contact me on 01625 585727 or 07926 077135 if you are able to help.
