Travellers who set up an unauthorised encampment in Alderley Edge Park on Friday, 24th May, have now left and the clean-up operation has begun.
The group, consisting of 13 vehicles, were issued with a Section 77 Notice to leave the site by 3pm on Wednesday.
Most of the travellers left this afternoon, with the others departing this evening.
Councillor Craig Browne has been liaising with ANSA regarding the clean-up operation, which he hopes they will carry out tomorrow.
However, in the meantime he has already starting clearing the park.
He said "I have cleared the infants' play area of litter this evening and would like to put out a general call for help with further litter picking on Saturday morning, meeting at 11am by the bandstand."
