Alderley Edge Community Primary School has appointed Lindsey Walsh as their new Headteacher, following last year's departure of Chris Perry who headed to the United Arab Emirates having spent 22 years at the school.
Mrs Walsh was the Deputy Headteacher at Alderley Edge Primary for 12 years before being appointed the new Interim Headteacher in 2018, whilst the Governors sought to appoint a long-term replacement headteacher.
Since then the governors have been going through a recruitment process which has now come to an end with the appointment of Lindsey Walsh in a permanent role.
Mrs Walsh said, "I am delighted to have been appointed the permanent Headteacher of Alderley Edge Community Primary School. I have been a class teacher for 20 years in three different schools and spent 12 of them as Deputy Headteacher here at AECPS.
"I believe passionately in children maximising their potential whatever their starting points and want them to have every opportunity to enjoy, believe and achieve whilst at primary school. I believe in developing the whole child to achieve academic excellence whilst learning the social and emotional skills to succeed in a modern society. Importantly, I want children to love learning and therefore will ensure our school to provides fun, challenging and engaging learning experiences for all the children."
She added "I am totally committed to AECPS, the children and families we work with on a daily basis and know how important it is that as a community school, we work close closely with the village of Alderley Edge for mutual benefit. I am looking forward to leading the school in the next chapter of its history."
A spokesperson for the Board of Governors said "Lindsey has been a major mover in getting the school its Outstanding Ofsted ranking and also in taking the school into the TCET Multi-Academy Trust which is in the process of being formed in the Wilmslow area.
"Obviously all the Governors are delighted that Lindsey is the successful candidate."
Meanwhile the former Deputy Head at Nether Alderley Primary School, Andrew Brady, has been appointed Headteacher at Chelford Primary School.
