The Ryleys School Year 6 Italian lesson was brought to life this week when the year group visited Piccolino, for a pizza and an Italian masterclass.

Pupils in Year 6 have been learning Italian as part of the school curriculum for the past year and wanted the opportunity to practise their love of the language. Maestra Allen, the school Italian teacher, approached the restaurant and they were only too happy to offer their services.

During the visit, the children all greeted the restaurant staff in Italian and introduced themselves. They then they ordered pizza toppings in Italian and made their own pizzas. After a delicious lunch, the children sang Italian songs in the restaurant and enjoyed asking for a 'gelato'.

Maestra Allen, Italian Teacher at The Ryleys, said: "This was a fantastic opportunity for the children to practise their Italian. The children were so enthusiastic to actually get to speak their Italian to native Italians. We are very grateful to Piccolino Alderley Edge who were so kind and generous."
