An organised display will be held in the village to celebrate Guy Fawkes Night next weekend.

On Sunday, November 4th, Alderley Edge Cricket Club will host their annual fireworks display. The gates will open at 4.00pm and the firework display will take place after 6pm.

John Berry, Manager of the cricket club, said "This will be the 13th year the Cricket Club has hosted this major village event and it joins traditional Alderley community events along with the Christmas lights switch on, the May Fair and parade as well as the Summer Fete.

Prior to the display as well as the children's funfair and rides there will also be stalls providing street food, coffee and hot beverages plus two bars offering mulled wine, beers, wines and soft drinks.

This year, they are offering cheaper tickets if purchased in advance. These can be bought online.

Alternatively, call 01625 584733 or pop into the cricket club to purchase advanced tickets priced £7 for adults, £5 for children or £20 for a family of 4. On the gate, entry will cost £9 for adults, £6 for children and £25 for a family of 4.

Unfortunately Alderley Edge Community Primary School is unable to host a bonfire night this year.

Mrs Walsh the acting head said "It is very disappointing that for the first time in as long as we can remember AECPS will be unable to hold its annual bonfire night celebration. Unfortunately, the school half term holiday clashes with November 5thand as a result we are unable to hold this event. We expect that in 2019 we will be able to resume our annual bonfire night and make it bigger and better than ever!"
