Officers from British Transport Police were called to Alderley Edge station at 3.51pm yesterday following reports of a disturbance on the platform.
A 22-year-old man had been ejected from a train for not having a ticket. Colleagues from Cheshire Police also attended, as he became abusive on the platform.
The man was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly and assault of a police officer.
