Talented dancers selected to perform with English Youth Ballet

Eight talented local dancers have been selected from over 150 young hopeful dancers to perform for the English Youth Ballet.

Charlotte Bunch (8), Belle Mousdell (9), Rose Singh (8) and Isabelle Smith(9) from Wilmslow along with Julia Cusworth (15) from Handforth are currently rehearsing for a professional production of a Double Bill (featuring Aurora's Wedding and Ballet Études) at the Buxton Opera House.

Also selected to perform are Laura MacLean (11) and Grace Bischof (12), both from Alderley Edge, and Amelie Wall (8) from Over Alderley.

Laura MacLean said "I was three when I started to dance at Sue Morris School Of Dance, and I started because I had seen my sister dancing and wanted to try it out. I'm looking forward to the costumes and dancing on stage with English Youth Ballet. I would love to be a performing arts teacher when I grow up."

Amelie Wall said "I was 3 when I started ballet. My childminder was also a dance teacher and her dancing inspired me. I have loved the feeling of dancing ballet ever since. I am looking forward to being part of a professional ballet company and the behind stage experience of getting ready and the excitement of going on stage. I would like to be a professional ballet dancer and dance in lots of famous ballet performances."

The Double Bill of Sleeping Beauty will be presented by English Youth Ballet at the Buxton Opera House on October 19th and 20th. The ballet will star international principal dancers – Philip Tunstall, Monica Tapiador, Samantha Camejo, Clair Corruble and Oliver Speers. All the soloist and corps de ballet roles in the production will be performed by 84 of the finest dancers (aged 8 to 18) from the local area.
