Big smiles as little ones settle into big school

This week marked a big step for hundreds of little ones and their families across Alderley Edge and Wilmslow as they embarked on a new adventure with their first day at primary school.

As the new term began they set off in their new uniforms with shiny shoes and big smiles to meet their new teachers and makes lots of new friends.

Miss Platt, Foundation Stage Leader at Alderley Edge Primary School, said, "The children have all settled fantastically well and we have had a great start to the year. It's been fun getting to know one another and we look set to have a busy and exciting first year at school."

Mrs Julia Langford, Head Teacher at The Ryleys School, said "We are all very proud of our Reception children this week who have all settled into their new classrooms and new routines so well. We are also delighted to welcome so many new families to Reception and introduce them to The Ryleys family."

Ms Howard, Junior School Headmistress at Alderley Edge School for Girls said "It has been lovely to welcome 15 girls to our new Reception class this week. They have settled so well already, you would never guess that they have only experienced three days at 'big school'! I know they will continue to flourish as the year progresses!"

Richard Craven, Headteacher at Nether Alderley Primary School, said "The children have settled in really well and are enjoying their first week of school."
