Police have arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of rape after an incident on London Road, Alderley Edge, on Saturday evening (August 18th). He has since been released under investigation.
Police also cordoned off both St Phillips and St James Church and the car park at Waitrose on Sunday morning in relation to a serious crime.
A police spokesperson said "Police believe that this is an isolated incident and would like to thank the public for their cooperation over the past few days whilst the investigation has taken place."
