St Phillips and St James Church was closed on Sunday morning as the grounds were declared the scene of a crime following a 'serious incident'.
Police also cordoned off the car park at Waitrose in relation to the crime and a forensic team carried out an investigation.
A police spokesperson told alderleyedge.com "Police are currently at the scene of an incident involving a vulnerable woman in a church yard on London Road, Alderley Edge. Details of the incident are currently unclear and officers are working to establish the circumstances."

I am still awaiting further information from the police, however they have confirmed to alderleyedge.com that the incident did not involve the death of somebody.
