Local community speed watch volunteers were joined by PCSO Anna Jenkinson and Councillor Craig Browne on Thursday, 21st June, to raise awareness of speeding on Brook Lane.

Between 1pm and 2pm they recorded 32 vehicles exceeding the speed threshold of 30mph.

During the hour they recorded 22 vehicles travelling between 36 and 39 mph and 10 vehicles travelling at 40 mph or above.

The highest recorded speed was 44 mph and the average speed of all recorded vehicles was 38.66 mph.

Councillor Craig Browne said "Although this represents a 20% reduction in the number recorded during our last session at this location, it is still too many.

"Hopefully, within the next week or so, our new interactive speed sign will be in place at this location."
