Make Music with the Alderley Edge Orchestra

After a very successful and enjoyable concert of classical music in the Methodist Church on Saturday 19th May, the Alderley Edge Orchestra is now finishing the season with something completely different. For the next four weeks the orchestra will be rehearsing music from some popular films, including Schindler's List, Star Wars, E.T. and Indiana Jones.

These rehearsals will culminate in an open rehearsal on Thursday 21st June, as part of International Make Music Day.

Make Music Day is an annual set of free music events taking place around the world – from town squares to libraries, bandstands to school halls. Always held on the summer solstice, Make Music Day celebrates amateur music-making in all its forms with 120 countries and 700 cities from across the globe taking part. The philosophy of the movement is that events should be inclusive, fun and free of charge and the Alderley Edge Orchestra plans to deliver just that.

We would love to see you on the evening of 21st June, when you can come and hear what we have been preparing for you! Alternatively, if you would like to join us in the orchestra for this event, we are particularly keen to welcome new string players. Feel free to come along just on the night and join our ranks, or you would be very welcome at rehearsals every Thursday evening.

Venue: Scout Hut, Talbot Rd, Alderley Edge. SK9 7HR
Date: Thursday 21st June
Time: 7.45pm
Cost: Absolutely nothing!
