Chetham students to perform lunchtime concert

Following hard on the heels of the Alderley Edge Festival last week, the May lunchtime concert at the Methodist Church takes place this Wednesday, 16th May. at 1.00 pm.

This month they welcome three young students from Chetham's School of Music.

Josh Barber on trombone will plays Bernstein's Elegy for Mippy II and Hindemith's Sonata for trombone and piano. This will be followed by Holly Clarke on the trumpet playing Oskar Boehme's Trumpet Concerto, Op. 18. Then Beth Stone on the flute will round off the programme with Honegger's Danse de la Chevre and Boehm's Grand Polonaise, Op. 16.

The students are all aged 17 and will be accompanied on the piano by Simon Passmore.

Admission is by programme, priced £5 and available at the door.

Light lunches will be served from 12 noon and the concert will commence at 1pm.

As it is Christian Aid week this week, proceeds from the concert will be donated to Christian Aid.
