Following the successful introduction of girls into the Junior School last September, the Governors of The Ryleys School in Alderley Edge have announced that they will also be opening up Years 4 and 5 to girls from this September. The new girls will mean that The Ryleys will be fully co-educational from Nursery to Year 5.

Headmaster Pat Barrett said, “We have been delighted with the way in which the girls have settled and quickly become such an integral part of the school. They are doing well in class and already making the most of the opportunities that exist for them in music, dance and drama. It makes sense now to extend the intake so that there is a strong cohort of girls in the Middle and Senior Schools too.”

"We are forging ahead with our plans for the girls. This summer will see the complete refurbishment of the changing areas and our application to build a full-size Astroturf hockey pitch on our playing fields in conjunction with Alderley Edge Hockey Club is now with the planners."

“We are all very excited by the way the school is developing and are very confident that we shall build on our reputation as one of the leading schools in the northwest.”
