Fire Chiefs are inviting men and women who want to see if they've got what it takes to be a firefighter in Wilmslow to an open evening on Tuesday 13th February at the Altrincham Road fire station.

The station will be open from 7pm to 9pm and anyone interested in the role is invited to go along so they can meet and talk to on-call firefighters, look at all the equipment used and ask any questions about the job and how to apply.

Anyone who can't make February 13th can meet Wilmslow firefighters who are holding a recruitment event in Bank Square, Wilmslow, on Saturday 17th February between 10am and 2pm.

Wilmslow Station Manager Duncan Palin said: "We're looking for committed men and women to join our on-call crew at Wilmslow Fire Station.

"Successful applicants will be helping to provide the best possible service to their community and will be trained to national firefighter standard.

"We're looking for people from all walks of life with a combination of practical ability, mental resilience, courage, physical fitness and the ability to remain calm and focused in emergency and difficult situations.

"I do hope people will come and see us on 13 or 17 February so they can talk to the crew about what being an on-call firefighter involves and will be able to register their interest."

There's more information about the role of on-call firefighter on the Service website.
