Police are appealing for witnesses after someone attempted to break into a builders' merchants in Wilmslow.
Shortly before 5.30am on Sunday, 24th December, officers were called to reports of an incident at a business premises on Alderley Road.
Officers attended the scene and found that an unknown person had broken the padlock on the gates in order to gain access to the yard at Travis Perkins.
A police spokesperson said "Officers conducted a through search of the area but were unable to locate any potential suspects. No items appear to have been taken."
A spokesperson for Travis Perkins said: "Due to ongoing internal investigations we are unable to comment at this time."
