A lady who works in the village returned to her car which was parked on Ryleys Lane at 5.10pm on Monday, 30th October, to discover her rear window had been smashed.

However, this was not an isolated incident as it also happened to her previous car back in May when it was parked on the same road.

Sarah Cairns said "I would hate to think that this is vandalism; but as this previously happened to my old car on May 19th on the same road - I can't help but think otherwise.

"Plus, I have seen two other cars with the exact same damage also on that road, but I do not know who they belonged to, and know of a third over the past few months."

Sarah added "It is becoming apparent that somebody is doing this deliberately."

Police also received a report of on Friday, 25th August, that the window of a car parked on Ryleys Lane was broken some time between 8.30am and 6pm.

Anyone with any information about this incident, or any previous ones which were not reported to the police, should contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 719 of 30/10/2017.

I can tell you who's doing this .... Scum ! .... Pure undiluted Scum !

Yobs with nothing better to do, apart from damaging someone else's property !

I feel it is more likely to be a disgruntled resident, as it is a common occurrence that people parking legally to go to work get notes left on their car or passing comments towards them in association with where they are parking. With the times it is happening it seems unlikely it is an accident.

I saw the glass on the road the other day and the location does not make me think it was a local resident, it is possible it could have been caused by a stone from the wheels of a fast moving car.

Jon Williams - I thought it was an accident the first time. But, unfortunately, for it to have happened to myself twice in the space of 5 months and to 2 additional people in that length of time - I feel it can’t possibly be a repeated accident.
