Two organised displays will be held in the village to celebrate Guy Fawkes Night next weekend.

On Saturday, 4th November, Alderley Edge Community Primary School will be hosting their annual family friendly Bonfire and Firework Display which takes place on the school field.

Head teacher Chris Perry said "The PTA Bonfire and Firework Display, which is held at our school, is an amazing event. It has been enjoyed for decades, not only by families from our school, but the whole community. Each year the event grows bigger and better and now includes everything from food and a bar to stalls and fairground rides.

"One thing that has never changed though is the focus on making sure the whole event is safe and enjoyable for families. This is enhanced by the fact that the event happens slightly earlier in the evening so the youngest children can enjoy the evening too. I look forward to welcoming families new and old as well as families from across the Alderley Edge and wider community to our fantastic Bonfire and Firework Display."

The bonfire will be lit at 5pm followed by a professional fireworks display at 6.45pm.

Discounted tickets can be purchased online until midnight on Thursday 2nd November - at advance prices of £7 for adults, £4 for children or £20 a family until midnight on Thursday 2nd November via our events page.

Tickets will also be available on the gate at the standard prices of £8 for adults, £5 for children and £22 per family.

The following evening Alderley Edge Cricket Club will host their annual fireworks display. The gates will open at 4.30pm and the firework display will take place after 6pm.

John Berry, Manager of the Cricket Club, said "We look forward to hosting this annual village event that is always a remarkable display for all the family.

"The Cricket Club has been organising this event for the last 10 years and is always a very popular night culminating in a spectacular firework display with the Edge as a backdrop."

Families can enjoy a children's funfair, BBQ and outside bar serving mulled wine and beers. Additionally the clubhouse bar will be opening where they will be screening the Chelsea v Man Utd football match prior to the display starting.

Tickets can be purchased at a discounted price online or from the clubhouse prior to 5th November. Family tickets (two adults and two children under 16 years) are available for £20, adult tickets are £7 and £5 for children.
