Concert of traditional folk songs

This month's Lunchtime Concert at Alderley Edge Methodist Church will feature baritone, Edward Robinson accompanied by composer and pianist, Dennis Tjiok.

Their recital, entitled "Folk Connections" comprises a collection of newly arranged traditional British folk songs for piano and baritone.

Edward Robinson is currently studying for his Master of Music postgraduate degree, and has many notable performances under his belt, in both opera and oratorio. He is under the tutorship of the internationally acclaimed baritone, Quentin Hayes.

Raised in London and Frankfurt, Dennis Tjiok studies composition with Laura Bowler and Gary Carpenter at the Royal Northern College of Music. Active as a composer and performer, he has been working in musical, theatre, film, TV, games and VR experience, conducting and performing classical music as well as rock, pop and jazz.

Dennis has won 1st prizes at the Mendelssohn Competition for Young Musicians, as well as the International Piano Ensemble Competition Marktoberdorf. As a certified organist, he performs in residence at Cross Street Chapel Manchester.

The Lunchtime Concert is on Wednesday 18th October starting at 1pm and will last approximately 45 minutes.

Admission is by programme, £5.00, available at the door.

Light lunches are served from 12 noon.
