Tea dance to kick off the Alderley Edge Poppy Appeal

The Alderley Edge Branch of the Royal British Legion are once again holding their annual Tea Dance to kick off this year's Poppy Appeal .

The annual event, which attracts people of all ages, will take place at the Festival Hall on Sunday, 29th October, from 2pm to 5pm.

Diana Bullock said "This is a great afternoon, with a cuppa and cake included in the price of £6, plus the bar will be open.

Guests can enjoy the sounds of the 30s, 40s and 50s and dancing ranges from jive to ballroom, barn dancing and many more with instruction provided by the DJ.

Diana added "If you don't feel like dancing, come and enjoy the music and watch the dancing. Many come in period dress, so feel free to dress up if you wish."

The Alderley Edge Poppy Appeal raised nearly £8500 last year, which represented an 11% increase on the £7589 collected in 2015.
