Carefound Home Care specialises in delivering highly personalised care at home to older people, including anything from basic domestic support, companionship through to specialist care for complex conditions such as dementia.

All carers are extensively vetted and trained and receive constant support and management from the local office in Wilmslow.

The company also provides live-in care and hourly care to families in Yorkshire from its existing office in Harrogate which has been rated "Outstanding" by the national regulator, the Care Quality Commission (CQC), putting it amongst the top 2% in the UK.

Councillor Arthur Moran, The Mayor of Cheshire East, and Mrs Carole Thomas, the Mayoress, were delighted to attend the opening event along with clients and carers, who all enjoyed the sandwiches, cakes and conversation.

The Mayor said: "I was delighted to visit Carefound Home Care and wish them well. It was interesting to learn about the highly personalised home care services they provide to the elderly so that they can remain in their own homes."

Mrs Hilda Ratcliffe, who was one of the company's first clients in Cheshire, was thrilled to be presented with a bouquet of flowers on the day.

Linda Smith, Daughter of Mrs Ratcliffe, said: "I chose Carefound Home Care for my Mother as I knew of the excellent reputation their existing office in Harrogate has.

"I have been very pleased with the service and the carers who visit Mum are all very nice."

Mrs Ratcliffe said: "I am so thrilled with the team at Carefound Home Care. It is all excellent."

Oliver Stirk, Director of Carefound Home Care, proudly stated: "It is fantastic to have opened our home care office in Wilmslow and it was a real pleasure to welcome some of our existing clients and staff, the Mayor and the Mayoress of Cheshire East to our office."

"Our company is built around our staff and the families we support and we very much look forward to developing our tailored home care service in the Cheshire area."

Katie Brennan, Home Care Manager of Carefound Home Care Wilmslow, said: "I am very proud of our new home care service in Wilmslow and we are delighted about the level of interest we have received from families and carers since receiving approval from the CQC in June.

"As a company, we have a fantastic reputation for the excellence of our home care services and the quality of people across our team is key to this. We place a huge emphasis on providing local, 24/7 support to our carers and the families we help, and we will be recruiting up to 50 local people to join our team over the next year.

"Our service is underpinned by basic principles such as continuity of carer, introductions before care commences, minimum hourly care visits of 1 hour and a genuine focus on health and social well-being. So whether families require low level help in the home, or full-time care for a specialist condition, we look forward to supporting older people living in the Cheshire area and replicating the success we have had in Yorkshire."

As part of the expert support Carefound Home Care provides to people living with complex health conditions such as dementia it has collaborated with the Contented Dementia Trust since 2012. This ensures that all staff are trained in their specialist approach to caring for people with dementia - the SPECAL method. This technique works positively with dementia, rather than trying to ignore or defeat it, and is based around three Golden Rules: don't ask questions; listen to the expert; and don't contradict.
