A evening of retro music and dance will he held at the Festival Hall next month to celebrate the competition of the refurbishment works. as well as the publication of a new book about the history of the building.

We propose to help John launch his new book and celebrate the completion of the refurbishment work at the Festival Hall by having a fun retro music and dance evening with great food and drink.

The vintage swing dance will be held at the Festival Hall in a themed setting called Noffin's Diner on the evening of Friday 20th October.

'Noffin's Diner' is a themed 1950's American diner with dogs, burgers, fries, chilli and fried chicken – music from our Band YESSIR and all the music of the 50's and 60's from our DJ, DAPPER DAN. There will also be a full bar.

Councillor Mike Dudley Jones said "So dust off your stuff and get ready to indulge in some serious retro sounds from Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman and Tommy Dorsey to Big Joe Turner, Louis Jordan and Elvis, Little Richard and Eddie Cochran. They will all be there! Take yourself back to the fun of the Alderley Edge Regal of the past and celebrate the future of this great building."

The night of nostalgia will also celebrate the publication of a new light hearted, book "Rock 'N Roll, Wrestlng and a Chevrolet Belair: An unexpected history of Alderley Edge Festival Hall" written by Alderley Edge resident John Wallace.

Tickets will be on sale at various outlets and online on the Festival Hall website from Monday 11th September, priced at £17 to include food.

Period dress is welcome - but not obligatory.
