A Mulberry handbag was stolen from a car parked at Quarry Bank Mill on Friday, 25th August.

The vehicle was broken into at some time between 12.10pm and 3.45pm.

On the same day the window of a car parked on Ryleys Lane was broken some time between 8.30am and 6pm.

Sgt Richard Wadsworth said "Nothing appears to have been taken from this vehicle and it is not believed the vehicle was entered."

He added "It is not known if the incidents are linked."

These are the first incidents of cars being broken into in the local area since Wilmslow Beat Team launched Operation Guillotined earlier this month in an attempt to detect, disrupt and deter future break-ins.

The operation is still ongoing and involves the Beat Team changing shifts and working longer hours to provide a presence in areas that have suffered offences to date.

Police Sergeant John O'Driscoll said "I am also employing the services of specialist departments within Cheshire Constabulary including Roads Policing to provide a pursuit capability should one develop. Existing offences will be investigated by detectives with a view to solving them reactively alongside the pro-active operation."

Anyone with any information about incidents can contact Cheshire Police on 101. Alternatively information can be given anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
