The Texaco Garage on Wilmslow Road is now closed for approximately 10 days to enable a refit to be carried out.
Stephen Higham, who purchased the petrol station from Rontec in 2013, said "We are fitting all new fuel pumps that are easier to operate and pump at a much higher speed which means customers can refuel quicker.
"At the same time the shop will have a facelift and altered so that we will have more retail selling area."
Stephen added "Hopefully we will be back in operation by Wednesday, 23rd August.
