Residents are being invited to go along to 'Highways Hour' next week to meet with officers from Cheshire East Highways and learn about their plans for the local roads.

'Highways Hour' will be taking place on Monday, 14th August, at the Alderley Edge Festival Hall, starting at 7pm.

Councillor Craig Browne explained "I have invited officers from Cheshire East Highways to come and give a presentation of their plans for the local highways network. At the end of the presentation, there will be a brief opportunity for residents and councillors to ask questions, before our usual Parish Council meeting begins at 8pm (half an hour later than usual)."

Officers have been asked to focus on the following themes in particular:

  • capital infrastructure programme (e.g. road resurfacing)
  • minor works programme (e.g. carriageway patching and traffic regulation)
  • flood risk management
  • street lighting
  • gully emptying
  • street sweeping

Councillor Browne added "Everyone is welcome to attend and I hope as many people as possible will be able to do so."
