Updated: Brook Lane closed this week for resurfacing

Brook Lane will be closed this week to enable resurfacing works to be carried out.

The works are expected to be carried out from Monday, 7th August, to Thursday, 10th August during which time there will be a full road closure from Wilmslow Road to Knutsford Road.

Councillor Craig Browne said "This is being funded through CE Highway's Capital Investment Programme and will improve the road surface along the full extent of Brook Lane. Following the surfacing works, all linings and other road markings will be refreshed, which is something I have been asking for for several months."

Updated Tuesday, 8th August, : The resurfacing work started today.

Is it my imagination or have there been absolutely no signs giving us advanced warning.

Yep, not my imagination!
Just gone past Knutsford Rd end of Brook Lane (early hours of Monday morning), definitely no signs up here. This must be organised by the same people who aren't closing Styal Rd for the next twelve weeks.

No Parking signs up near Brookview, but it says only two days

The road was fully open yesterday morning (7.45am) and evening (6pm), and again this morning. Signs saying no parking today and tomorrow 9am -6pm (I think) on the Alderley Edge side of the Brook bridge. No road closure signs anywhere though.

Great to see that work has begun today.

It's looking good so far - thanks CEC Highways.

Delighted to see so much progress on my way home last night.
Signage could still be better though tbh. But good progress made.
