Development of 4 semis planned for Blackshaw Lane

DSCN2992 (1)

Plans have been submitted for a new residential development on Blackshaw Lane.

Alderley Edge Based developer Huntsmere Construction have applied to demolish a two storey house and replace it with four semi-detached dwellings.

The new five bedroom homes have been designed as two storey with further bedrooms within the roof space. Each dwelling is set back from the road with gated access for vehicles and pedestrians and parking for at least three vehicles each.

Cllr Craig Browne requested that the planning application be called-in so it is determined by the Northern Planning Committee, therefore the original decision date of 26th July will not apply.

He said "The allocation for new housing in Alderley Edge is set out in the Cheshire East Local Plan (SADPD) and through sites being brought forward through the Alderley Edge Neighbourhood Plan. Special circumstances should be demonstrated to evidence the need for any additional development and therefore this application should be considered by Northern Planning Committee to discuss whether such circumstances exist."

The plans can be viewed on the Cheshire East Council website by searching for planning reference 17/2800M. The last date for submitting comments is 27th June.

Allthough the details above are perforce brief, the replacement of one house by four houses, with three-car parking etc. sounds a winning scheme.

But is the SADPD going to scupper things?

Have the Corbynistas taken over ?

No not Corbynistas but those who cannot now afford to live where they were born .These houses will be for the rich .A winning scheme for the small minority.

Hi Harry,

you have a viable point.

Can someone explain, to you and I, why it is that after so much time when the whole 'affordable homes thing' has been talked through and through, that there are no affordable houses yet built ?

May I suggest: free land given by C.E. + a small builder working for just a decent wage and on we go?
