Following the recent tragic fire at The Christie Hospital, an Alderley Edge couple are organising a fundraising event for The Christie Cancer Appeal Fund.
Colin Gillies and Annette Jacobsen are putting on 'A Festival of Floyd and Food' which will take place at The Festival Hall on Talbot Road, commencing at 7.30pm on Friday 16th June.
Pink Floydian, described as the UK's most authentic independent Pink Floyd tribute band, will be entertaining the guests and have generously offered to play free of charge, in order to maximise fundraising.
Colin Gillies said "The fire at The Christie Hospital destroyed years of research and life-saving equipment worth millions of pounds. It is vital, not only to saving lives here in the UK but across the world, that we all help to get this research centre back on track and help in whatever way we can.
"What better way to do this than to share an evening with the inherently generous people of Alderley Edge, and step back in time to enjoy some of the finest music ever produced."
Tickets are priced at £15 per person which includes a hog roast, and there will be a licensed bar run by the Festival Hall. Tickets are available at The Cancer Research shop in Alderley Edge village or by contacting Annette or Colin on 07840 077285. (£5 from the ticket price covers the hog roast and £10 goes to Christies).
There will also be an auction and a raffle during the evening. If any local businesses have any prizes they would like to donate, please contact Annette.
