Appeal for donations to fund £11,000 village planter project

We are asking for your urgent help and support to launch a new look to the London Road which we have researched carefully over the past few months.

We propose to line either side of the road with six large 'self watering planters' which will be professionally planted, watered and maintained on an annual summer and winter basis.

With Parish Council budget restraints in this current period we seek to launch this first year through individual resident donations to help the 'look' of the Village for 2017/2018 season and then to incorporate the ongoing planting and maintenance regime into the Parish Council budget for April 2018 and beyond.

We need £11,000.00 to fund the planters and the planting/maintenance for this first year and to do this we need to ask for the generosity of 185 local residents to assist the fund with either:-

• A Bank Standing Order of £5.00 per month for one year
• Or a Cheque for £60.00 as a one off payment

Each Parish Councillor has agreed to contribute and each has been asked to approach friends, family and other residents for a similar commitment. If you are reading this then they have chosen you in the hope you might be willing to assist yourself and encourage your friends to help too. In so doing it is hoped that we can reach our target quickly and help to make the centre of our Village look really beautiful for the coming season and beyond.

There is already huge support and in addition to generous donations we have an anonymous donor who has so kindly 'underwritten' the entire cost whilst the fund raising continues, so that we can pay our suppliers promptly at the start of the 'planter season' which is early June. Our suppliers are completing our order now - to make it all happen! All we need is your agreement to be part of this project.

In return for your kindness and support you will each have your name engraved on a brass plate which will be housed in a special display cabinet sited on the London Road as a lasting memorial to your generosity.
