Spire restored to its former glory

DSCN2786 (1)

The spire at St Philips and St James, has been restored to its former glory. Scaffolding has come down, and now a clean up around the grounds is in process for the Installation and Induction of the new incumbent Rev Robin Pye.

The mammoth task of replacing the wrought iron rings, that hold up the spire, and the replacing of stone, has taken just over a year. The spire now looks splendid and the new stone work is clearly visible, along with the cockerel glistening in the sun.

This has all been completed just in time to welcome Robin as the 10th Vicar of St Philip and St James., following on from Revd Jane Parry.

We are very pleased to welcome Robin and his wife Marian to Alderley Edge and he will be at the Mayfair next Saturday, so come up and say hello.

The service of Induction and Installation will take place on Monday 15th May at 7,30pm, with Bishop of Stockport, Rt Revd Libby Lane.
