Alderley United U13's are confirmed as champions of the Timperley & District Junior Football League, making them a double winning team. In April the team won the Cup competition and yesterday beat the same cup finalist opponents, Unicorn Athletic, to win the league. There are still 3 games to play in the league but the team are now in an unassailable position.

The opposition made it an extremely tough encounter. The deadlock was broken late into the first half as Alderley scored their first goal, a dramatic scissor kick scored by man of the match, Oscar Robinson. At half time the teams were level, 2 - 2. Unicorn Athletic took the lead shortly after the break, which led to a tense 10 minute period as Alderley attempted to convert pressure into goals. A quick couple of goals settled the nerves and the game ended 6 – 3 in Alderley's favour with Oscar Robinson scoring all 6 goals.

The team manager, Mark Murray, said "I am extremely proud of the boys achievements during the season. They have worked and developed together as a team to produce some great results. Their commitment and dedication cannot be questioned and so many of them have developed as footballers as the season has gone on." He added " the boys will not rest on their laurels - as a group they are fully committed to becoming the "invincibles" of the league and have a huge desire to go through the whole season unbeaten – three more games to go!"

The squad as a whole have worked hard all season and should be congratulated, as should Paul Marshall and all of the family and friends who have supported the team in all weathers.

The season's squad: Jake Ogden, Thomas Baxter, Jake Ashley, Michael Vale, Matthew Marshall, Louis Merica, Lucas Murray, Leo Arkelaos, George Halfpenney, Andrew Cowell, Matthew Cowell, Charles Morrison, Oscar Robinson, Nia Mistry, Tom Fisher, Harvey Hodgson, Isaac Pugh and Callum Young.
