The annual Parish Meeting will be held at the Festival Hall on Monday, 8th May, which all local residents are invited to attend.
This is not one of the Council's regular monthly Parish Council Meetings, but an opportunity for everyone to come along and learn more about what is going on in our community.

The Chairman of the Parish Council, Geoff Hall, and our Ward Councillor, Craig Browne, will report on the work that they and their fellow councillors have been doing over the last 12 months. They will also talk about future plans.

In addition to this, the Council has invited leaders of community groups around the village to come and report on their activities as well. These organisations include:

• Alderley Music Festival

• Alderley in Bloom

• Alderley May Fair

• Friends of Alderley Railway Station

• Local churches

• RVS (who serve meals for the elderly at the Methodist Church)

• British Legion

• Union Club

Councillor Geoff Hall, Chairman of Alderley Edge Parish Council, said "One of the things that we have worked hard on over the last two years has been encouraging community groups to work with us for the betterment of our community.

"As a Parish Council we are just nine residents representing a wide cross-section of the community. Over the last two years we have had to wrestle with the serious consequences of the original under-funding of the new Medical Centre. So we have come to rely heavily on a small but skilled group of volunteers who have helped us raise the funds we need to complete the refurbishment of the Festival Hall.

"Those efforts are already visible, and the major work will finally be completed by the end of this year. More importantly, we believe that there is a lot more that we can achieve by working this way."

He added "Above all we want to prove that Alderley Edge has a beating heart - that our village has much more about it than night time champagne swilling at London Road bars and the Saturday parades of Lamborghini's.

"So, if you want to know more about what is really going at the heart of our village, do come along on Monday evening. We promise that you will be made very welcome."

The meeting will be held at Alderley Edge Festival Hall on Monday, 8th May, starting at 7.30pm.
