Flute choir to perform inaugural concert

A new local musical group are preparing to perform their inaugural concert this month.

Alderley Edge Flutes was set up just over a year ago for the accomplished amateur who enjoys music and good company.

The flute choir is directed by RNCM's Áine Lambert and rehearse monthly, using facilities provided by The Ryleys.

Nicky Green said "We pride ourselves on being local, rehearsing and performing locally.

"Currently we meet once a month on a Sunday morning. Our flute family consists of piccolo, concert flute, alto flutes and a bass.

​"Our players are largely enthusiastic, keen amateurs and music teachers - some of whom play in local orchestras as well."

Alderley Edge Flutes will be performing a tea time concert at Alderley Edge Methodist Church on May 21st commencing at 3pm. Join them for an afternoon of light music, including arrangements of The Marriage of Figaro, Sheep May Safely Graze and Dizzy Fingers.

Tea and cake will be available.

Tickets are available on the door priced £6 for adults, £5 for concessions and children under 16 are free.
